NEB - Hi I am enjoying Nebuleon very much, our group has a question regarding armor that we are unable to find - namely - how is armor repaired? By that I mean in combat successful hits reduce armor points until they get to the "person" underneath. But...is there anyway to restore those armor points after the fight? Or is the armor pretty much scrapped and need to be purchased again?

Thanks!!

Oh, definitely. There are a couple of ways.
1. Quick repair - This is when you take a can of quickset armor bonding agent and spray it on as a patch. This can be done without a check and repairs 1/2 the damage you would have in that area. So, 20 pts damage would become 10.

2. The more permanent one. If someone has Armor Tech skill they can repair the full damage with a successful check and application of the same QABA mentioned above but they know how to shape it properly and the tricks of the trade to bonding. This repairs all the damage.

3. If you have a ship/base/vehicle nearby they will have spare plates/links that can be swapped out. Remember, everythign is modular in Neb. ;) This mainly requires time (about 1 hour depending ont he armor, longer for heavuer stuff) but can be done quicker if the Armor Tech skill is used.

4. It should be note dthat sometimes the armor is scrap. This is up tot the GM and the group and how they want to play it. I usually say if more than 1/2 of the areas are destroyed, time for new armor.

Does that help?

Thanks for getting Neb and keep us informed. There are a lot of Neb players on the forums.

Bill

thanks for the info! Is that quickset armor patch bonding agent in the main book? Can't find a price on it though can just easily estrapolate one.

I do not think so. It is slated for the Free Traders League book but will most likely make it into Neb II. Real quick, it comes in a nano-blisters (think bubble wrap but each bubble filled with green goo). There are 100 patches in one lot. It costs about 100-150 credits depending on where you are (most places with even a basic trade it will be 100). It takes 1 nano-blister per area.

Hope that helps. I probably should have put that in the core rules but there just was so much to fit in there.
