Awesome!!! Seriously, I really like it. The GM can bring a laptop, and play it for the players. Players will get a kick out of it, because they don't usually get that kind of visual component to their roleplaying experience.
I don't think it's "too geeky", because you're talking about geeks. There is no such thing as too geeky!

They are busy keeping the Safe Area safe. The 75th is a light infantry under force batallion meaning they basically have the gear they carry on their backs and number less than 3500 at full strength. Essentially, they are not positive it exists and don't have the man power to send wheeling off across country towards the source of infection (near Detroit).

ah, I see, cool
that explains why they dont just go get it perfectly
makes sense to me now htat I can see the big picture

sounds kinda Morrow Project too (what with the military and all)
