I hope it is okay to post this here but I wanted to get the word out and hopefully raise some support for one of the best in the business

Posted on JTAS:

"Loren Wiseman, editor of JTAS, is in the hospital recovering from a quadruple bypass following a minor heart attack. Prognosis is good, and right now he expects to be released soon ... Loren will return when his health allows ..."

Thanks for your understanding.

-- Steve Jackson

PS - His medical bills are obviously going to be huge. If you can help him out with anything at all, contributions can go via PayPal to loren@sjgames.com. Anything will help. Thanks.

LOREN WISEMAN UPDATE
TAKEN FROM STEVE JACKSON GAMES

Re: Loren Wiseman recovering

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LKW update: I am continuing to make some small progress towards re-building my stamina, but I have discovered that it takes stamina to do that, and I don't always feel up to it. My left leg is still the site of some discomfort where the donor viens were taken out, and both legs are still swollen. I'm getting into the swing of my diabetes regimen. Shoving a needle into myself three imes a day is not as much fun as it sounds (and it doesn't sound like much fun at all). I also get to stick myself with a teeny-weenie lancet to draw a drop of blood for my blood glucose level test several times a day. During my training at the hospital before I was released, I was told I must be very careful not to accidently prick myself with the syringe I just used to inject myself with, but I guess that's just teaching me good biohazard disposal technique. I can now raise my arms over my head for several seconds at a time without causing serious discomfort, but I still have trouble sleeping more than 4 hours at a stretch.
